Because changing a tire often requires more than one tire iron, this kit include one 16" Tire Iron and two 8-1/2" Tire Irons. The 16" size provides excellent leverage for those tough to change tires and the 8-1/2" are perfect for holding the bead in place. Both sizes feature one flat end for holding and prying with the other curved for a better grip on the bead. I-Beam cross section increases strength and bend resistance without added weight. Made from high quality drop forged steel then heat treated for strength and durability.

Changing tires most recently on my KLR 650 and these tools make the job a little less unpleasant. Have used them for several years.

Worked well on a CRF 50 rear wheel. This will mark up your rims, the strength ribs on the bars themself also cause marks on your rim. I used 3/8 fuel tubing slit down the middle on one side to protect the rim somewhat.Tip- plenty of lube, I used very soapy waterTip- work inches at a time, don't try to pry a whole 1/4 of the tire bead out, do inches at a time.Tip- be ready to sweat.

ProsDid not pop my tubeSignificantly reduced time to install tiresLong tire iron is able to handle rear mower tires with easeOnly slight bending due to me trying to move too much tire at a timeConsSmall irons are only good for holding tire on larger tiresI replaced several lawn mower tires, front and rear, using this set. I did not pop any tubes with these and was able to install the tires in a fraction of the time it would take without them. However, like some people have mentioned, it will leave small gouges due to the raised edges, which isn't an issue for me, especially when you can get rim guards if it would be an issue. I do also find myself using the smaller irons just for keeping the tire on the right side of the rim and the larger one for actually moving it. If I were to purchase it again, I would instead go for a set of 2 longer ones, but that's just my preference. The larger one does now have a very slight bend to it, but that was with me trying to grab far too much tire and using all of my body weight to try to pull it, not at all an issue given the circumstances.

Used these to change tires on my KLR650. Worked GREAT! I made a choice to order three irons instead of just two because I've read that you need two to hold and one as your big leverage iron. And for me, it really seemed to work out well. Most of the instructional videos I've watched used three irons as well. That long tire iron really gives you good torque. The curved tip ends are good for hooking onto the edge of the rim. Would recommend these to anyone with a dirt bike or dual sport. And the irons are good smooth quality as well. No rough edges.
