The fine mesh makes this really useful for lots of things that you might like to drain or rinse. I like to wash rice and quinoa and this makes that possible without it going down the drain. Also the handle stick out to such a size that I can have it touch both sides of my small sink and not fall in.

I love this so much, I bought a second one! I use this to drain cheese (will take 2 lbs) and needed a colander that could fit in dishwasher for sterilizing. I love that is is wide, not too deep. It fits in top shelf of dishwasher and has no staining or marring or surface/shine. Drains great and little feet are perfect, no trapped water as with pedestal colanders.

This colander is awesome! I have had the hardest time finding a good sized colander that also has small holes to keep me from losing my ground meat, thin pasta noodles, etc. when rinsing/straining. I finally found it! Great colander. The mesh is not "flexible" mesh. It's sturdy. The size of the colander is great. The diameter is nice and open, and the depth is a great size for pouring into and out of the colander. I highly recommend this.
