CURT custom wiring uses vehicle-specific plugs to plug into the vehicle's electrical system and provide a standard wiring output, usually in the form of a 4-way or 5-way flat.

Installation of CURT custom wiring
Two types of wiring
CURT offers two types of custom wiring: custom wiring harnesses and custom wiring connectors. Both are made for specific vehicles, and both require zero cutting or splicing.
Custom wiring harnesses
A custom wiring harness (also known as a ‘T-connector’) is designed to ‘T’ into your vehicle’s taillight assembly. This simply requires access to the taillight wiring.
Custom wiring connectors
A custom wiring connector uses a single plug to plug into a designated OEM socket on the vehicle. Not all vehicles are equipped with this socket, but it does make installing very easy.
Both vehicle-specific
Each custom wiring harness and connector is made for a specific make and model, featuring the necessary components to provide a standard trailer wiring output.

Very easy to install and works great. The plug you need to clip it to underhood is hidden into black electrical tape. Its located Just behind the gray connector so yes it works for 2020 Outlander

If you have the factory sub in the driver side rear, the plug is taped to the harness before the sub not at the sub . Very nice product. Which is needed . I'm a tech and I have seen the results of people trying to wire up their trailer without this . Fires happen. As car uses amber turn and trailer uses red turns you can't wire them in the same circuit without this box.Very nice direct plug and play.Thanks.
