I've used CyberPower UPS backups for many years and have been very happy with them. Others may not have the positive experiences I have, but for me they have always been reliable and long lasting. This is the first rack mount version I have bought, and the length between the rack ears were too short. I have multiple 19 inch rack mounted equipment and they all fit perfectly. For some reason, mounting this CyberPower UPS was a total nightmare. I considered routing out the rack ear holes, but that would have voided the warranty. CyberPower, please do us a favor and extend the rack mount ear holes just a couple mm further out.

Great product at an excellent price! All of its features are exceptional: size, fit, cord length, quality and ease of installation and use. I am completely satisfied with this product. What a great purchase!!!

Works great. All the ports are on battery. This powers multiple gaming PCs in my rack and I haven’t hit the upper limit of the throughput yet but I do only use 1 PC at a time intensely. The others are usually idle. On the previous one I was hitting the 300w limit pretty often with just 1 PC plugged into it. This unit was the best value I could find for rack mountable and more than 500 watt throughput. Thinking about getting another to power everything else on the rack instead of the 2 smaller ups I have now.

If all you're looking for is a UPS that will output power for a while during a power outage, with no integration with software that performs monitoring or automatically shuts down the system, this UPS is just fine. Much cheaper than APC, and in a rack mount form-factor, it's very useful.I did find one integration issue. Specifically if you tell the UPS to shut off its outputs, either using a command over USB or the front-panel button, then USB communication fails *when* the output is turned back on (either AC power is restored, or turned on again by the front panel button). To resolve this, either (a) reboot the PC, (b) unplug/replug the USB cable, (c) use software to perform a USB software reset (`usbreset` command on Linux). This is mostly only important during testing of an automated monitoring/shutdown system, since when the power really goes out, either it comes back early so the output doesn't get turned off, or the battery gets drained, and all attached systems get power cycled (either when the battery fully runs out, or in a nice coordinated way via the monitoring software, such as NUT's `shutdown.return` command). In this case, since the monitoring PC is rebooted when the AC is restored, so the communication issue isn't observed. To work around this issue during testing, I wrote a background script that checks whether `lusb` can see the "bus powered" status (the querying of which appears to be the simplest proxy for whether USB communications work), and if not, to `usbreset` the connection.

I've been using the CyberPower CP1500PFCRM2U UPS System for a few months now, and it's been a solid performer for my UNRAID server setup. Here's my take on it:Pros:Power Capacity: With 1500VA/1000W, it provides ample power backup for my essential devices, including my computer, modem, and router. I can have enough juice in the bank to allow 15 minutes for a safe shutdown of processes when under normal loads using UNRAID.Sine Wave Output: The pure sine wave output ensures that my sensitive electronics receive clean power, which is crucial for maintaining their performance and longevity.Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): The AVR feature helps stabilize minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which is great for protecting my equipment.Multiple Outlets: The eight outlets are very convenient, allowing me to connect multiple devices without needing a power strip. This is amazing in itself.Remote Management: The option for remote management via the PowerPanel software is a nice touch, especially for monitoring and managing the UPS from a distance. I prefer to still use my UNRAID management tool as it is seemless and connects with ease. I also can configure it to prevent a system shutdown if the power were to come back within a certain timeframe. This is great for those random outages in the area where it comes right back.Cons:Runtime: The runtime is relatively short, around 3.1 minutes at full load and 10.2 minutes at half load. It's enough to safely shut down my devices but not to keep them running for an extended period during a power outage. At the end of the day, it isn't a generator, it is a UPS.Weight: The unit is a bit heavy, weighing around 27 pounds (12 kilograms). This makes it a bit cumbersome to move around if needed. I suggest you put it on the bottom of your rack as it can allow for a stable mount that isn't top heavy.Initial Setup: The initial setup can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not familiar with installing UPS systems. Properly connecting all the devices and ensuring everything is working correctly took some time for me when it came to UNRAID. Luckily there are enough people who have answers to the questions I had, and it allowed me to setup everything in a day.Overall, the CyberPower CP1500PFCRM2U is a reliable UPS system that provides excellent power protection and multiple features for home office use. Just keep in mind the short runtime at high loads and the weight if you plan to move it around frequently.
