For a long time, I believed that finding a UPS capable of supporting my high-end computer’s 1200W power supply was impossible, as most high-end models cap out around 900W. Consequently, I relied solely on a surge protector, accepting the risks associated with power outages and fluctuations. However, upon discovering the CyberPower PR1500LCD, I found a solution that not only meets but exceeds my expectations.Performance & ReliabilityThe PR1500LCD delivers exceptional performance, providing a pure sine wave output that ensures stable and clean power to my high-end PC. This feature is crucial for protecting sensitive components and maintaining system stability during power transitions.Capacity & RuntimeWith a robust 1500VA / 1500W capacity, this UPS comfortably supports my system’s power demands, even under full load. In the event of a power outage, the PR1500LCD offers ample runtime, allowing me to shut down the system safely.Build Quality & FeaturesThe unit boasts a sturdy build and features a clear, informative LCD display that provides real-time information on power load, estimated runtime, and battery status. The Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) is a standout feature, correcting minor power fluctuations without resorting to battery power, thereby extending the battery’s lifespan.Compatibility with Standard OutletsOne of the standout features of the PR1500LCD is its compatibility with standard North American household power outlets. Equipped with a NEMA 5-15P plug and a 6-foot cord, it easily connects to typical NEMA 5-15R outlets found in most homes. This means there’s no need for special wiring or adapters, simplifying the setup process.Software IntegrationThe PowerPanel® Personal software integrates seamlessly with my PC, offering comprehensive power monitoring and automated shutdown options. This ensures that my data is protected, and the system is properly managed during power events.Final VerdictThe CyberPower PR1500LCD has proven to be the ideal solution for my high-power computing needs. It provides reliable power backup, a suite of valuable features, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing my system is protected. For anyone with a high-end computer setup seeking a dependable UPS, I highly recommend the PR1500LCD.Pros:• High capacity suitable for demanding systems (1500VA / 1500W)• Pure sine wave output ensures stable power delivery• Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) enhances power stability• Informative LCD display for real-time monitoring• Compatible with standard NEMA 5-15R outletsCons:• The unit is extremely heavy, which is expected given its capacityIn conclusion, the CyberPower PR1500LCD has addressed my concerns about finding a UPS capable of supporting at least a 1200W power supply. It stands as a robust and reliable choice for high-end computer systems.

This UPS works as expected when the power goes out. However, the PR750LCD or associated PowerPanel software gives no notice of dying battery; nor does it gracefully shutdown the attached device (Synology NAS connected by USB cable and configured properly). It does provide that service during an environmental outage, but apparently not when its own battery is failing. All the other cute features mean nothing when the UPS drops power without warning.Very disappointing after many good years with multiple CP1500PFCLCD (which are cheaper).

I have several UPS units (Cyberpower & APC) around the house.I purchased a new gaming computer (14900K & 4090), any time i did a benchmark or booted up a heavy game (Cyberpunk 2077, etc...) my previous UPS immediately signaled overload and began howling at me.After some research, I discovered the unit I'm reviewing, and couldn't be happier. The Good:+ Supports a TRUE 1500w! Even the manual states it has a run-time of ~5 min at full load. Believe it.+ Many options and features as well as a useful, matter-of-fact display unit.+ Feels incredibly well built.+ Detachable face plate and cord included (Screen snaps off the unit and is connected by cable)+ Adequate to protect a MONSTER PC that pulls ~1,300-watt surges when running at max power. The Bad:- Weighs a shocking amount (Think: A loaf of bread made from cast iron!)- Display turns off too early and doesn't seem to have an option to change the time delay.- Requires downloading a different web-based app to monitor the UPS from the PC.- Fans sometimes spin up for no reason even when no load or power fault is occurring.

This is an easy-to-use and great device. The device is small enough to fit on the bottom of my mobile rolling computer cart station that I custom-built from DendroCo on Etsy for use in my home office. (The rolling cart explains why I needed this - when I roll the cart from place to place, I need to unplug the computer on the bottom of the cart and plug it in to another outlet. Of course, the UPS against short power outages is a great added bonus, and I do recommend sine wave protection for high-end computers because it will make it less likely there will be problems, I suspect.)In particular, I really appreciate that the beeps only start to appear after the power is off for 10 seconds or so, which means that I don't have to worry if I unplug my computer to plug it in to another outlet and have the beeps go shrieking in the middle of the night, waking everyone else up - but if I forget to re-plug it in, the beeps will go off.The screen gives useful information about the state of the device, as well.Highly recommended - simple, easy to use, gives the right information on the screen, compact, sine wave protection, well thought-through beeps the details have been taken care of.
