I've had one of these in my kitchen for some time now and use it every day. I was recently visiting friends and helping with the cooking. When it came time to push peels into the garbage disposal, I found myself looking for this tool. Reluctantly, I had to use one of their utensils for the task. As part of my thank you gift for my visit, they are now the owners of this garbage disposal tool.I appreciate that this keeps fingers and utensils away from the disposal blades. It also makes it easier to scrape peels and other disposal-friendly debris into the garbage disposal. I've never had an off-odor from it or had gunk stick to it. Periodically putting it in the dishwasher keeps it nice and clean.

This item does exactly what it says. It fits perfect with my Waste King Disposal. Finally I can turn on the disposal without fear of metal being it it!

I have been using this product for years. I love how it prevents small objects and silverware from falling in the garbage disposal. It scraper end is convenient for scraping scraps into the drain. It does not interfere with the operation of the garbage disposal. Great invention. I have also used the version 2 of this product. I feel this product is best for daily use. The version 2 that has the option to turn to convert to a stopper is great if you want to fill the sink with water. But I do not recommend using version 2 daily because it holds old food in the movable parts and is difficult to clean. This version has no moving parts. The scraper is removable if you want. It easily cleans in the dishwasher.

Perfect fit and works well. The genie does well at keeping the grandkids little utensils out of the disposal. Unobtrusive appearance when installed and is easy to remove and run through the dishwasher.

This gadget fits easily into my Insinkerator disposal and does just what it's supposed to. It's easy to remove and push food bits down the drain with the flexible bottom section and drops just as easily back into place. You can run the disposal with it in place. I like that I don't have to worry about anything getting flung out when the disposal is running or any thing that I don't want falling into it getting in there. I've had that happen numerous times so when I saw a similar item being demonstrated on TV, I looked to see what Amazon had that was like that. This one is the same brand, but a simpler model and much cheaper. The one offered on QVC fit more snugly and the top could be turned to seal the drain so you could fill the sink with water if you wanted. I have the stopper that came with the disposal to achieve that effect if I want it, so didn't care about that function. This one is all one piece and falls easily into the drain if no pressure, and is just as easy to remove. I like that feature so am pleased I got this one instead.Yesterday I pitted cherries and always have a devil of a time getting my cherry pitter apart for cleaning. Sure enough when it finally came apart many of the pits fell into the sink and would have gone down the drain but for this gadget. I could retrieve them without fuss and put them in the trash. The openings around the sides of this gadget are big enough for the water to flow freely down the drain, but even a cherry pit is stopped. Very pleased with this purchase. Had I gotten it sooner, I'd have saved myself the cost of having to replace multiple items when some key part fell into the disposer and was ruined.
