I really like the sound of the sub in my small workshop. Works well with my WiiM Amp.

I just received my Dayton Audio Sub-800 last evening. It was dbbl boxed with thick styrofoam forprotection. A nice touch. No nitpicking from me either. The sound is superb after playing it at low volume. It is much smaller than my Polk PSW-10 but blows it away. I am very impressed and happy.I have it mated to Polk S20 bookshelf speakers on standa as my mains in a 2.0 sytem. My amp is a YamahaA301-S 2-channel integrated with 60x2 watts. my main music source is cd and I havr a Denon DCD 600NEcd player. I love the sound as do my friends. My sub is well broken in & goes even deeper. I plan to buyanother one in 2022. Love the look & sound. Best sub out there for the money. Thanks Dayton Audio.

I’m very impressed with this sub. I have been involved in hometheater since 1999. I started out klipsch subwoofer then moved to paradigm. I currently own 6 svs subs over two homes. I needed an inexpensive sub for my bedroom to connect to my zvox soundbase. I wanted something small to place inside my ikea kallax cabinet. I compared this to $300 kanto8 sub. Even though the Dayton has a small amp, it was able to creat impactful deep bass for its modest size . It is best for small to median size rooms. Ive also have experience with the polk -pw10. It’s a good sub, but is more “boomy” then the Dayton. Build quality is also excellent. The cabinet is very solid. I can’t imagine how much better this sub could be with a bigger amp. This was the best purchase for $123. For anyone on a budget this is the best sub.

I'm not well equipped to judge the quality of a subwoofer as I don't have anything to directly compare with, but to my ears, the Dayton Audio SUB-800 sounds great, as professional audio reviewers have written numerous times. I'm pairing mine with the pair of Audioengine HD3s I have on my computer desk which are great speakers but light on the low frequencies. Adding the SUB-800 fills out the sound very nicely and adds punch to electronic music, making basslines sound much more engaging and immersive without being overly thumpy or rumbly (if properly adjusted).I think the unit looks attractive and understated with a flat top and only a small logo on the front (not really removable as it's held in with pins in two holes) and a removable cover that velcros on. There is sufficient audio adjustment with a 40-140Hz crossover dial, a volume knob, and a phase toggle switch. High level input and output are available, as well as stereo or mono RCA inputs.Using the RCA passthrough outputs on the Audioengine HD3 works fine with the SUB-800, but there is a minor issue - the auto-on feature of the SUB-800 is *not even close* to being sensitive enough, and with my HD3s you have to play music quite loud before it detects a signal. In my case, it's well above my typical listening level - especially since I'm in a condo building and would rather not have my neighbours knocking on the door.I understand that Dayton Audio was probably trying to avoid the speaker mistakenly activating on any transient noises or hum that might be going through the speaker, but the auto-on feature needs to be far more sensitive than it is to be useful. It might be nice if it were adjustable so you could set it to turn on at very low volumes.Fortunately, as long as you're not too worried about the power this will use, you can just leave the power switch on at all times and it works fine, but this issue is the primary reason this speaker isn't getting five stars from me.For the price, I think the Dayton Audio SUB-800 is a wonderful complement to a nice set of stereo speakers. It may be a bit overkill for the typical computer desktop, but I'm glad I got this as it makes my Audioengine HD3s sound a lot better for the types of music I listen to.

Best of its Class. Outstanding sound!I researched online for an affordable unit to get even more bass to my Zbox SB500 sound bar so i decided to research a subwofer and found the Dayton Audio SUB-800 8-Inch 80 Watt Powered for $99.95 so i added it. Once hooked it to the TV headphone with the wire that came from the soundbar, set Gain and Crossover at 3/4 you won't believe these two units combined how great music or movie listening experience you get, very satisfied and at 3/4 of Sono's price.Pro: sound.Cons: does not come with aBasics 3.5mm to 2-Male RCA Adapter Audio Stereo Cable. No remote control that you can use.As for the Zbox SB500 sound bar I was amazed by the quality of the sound. The price so much affordable than the Sono's option, so i decided to give it a try. Once at home I installed it on top of the TV and the sound is incredible. Volume TV at 8, and Blue Ray or Netflix at 11. The bass is incredible. For best sound quality I set up accuvoice at sd3, output leveling at noOL, bass 3. Treble HI 2, surround to sd 3. Sound is Crystal clear, bass is outstanding, beyond expectations. 3D sound is a plus, can hear sounds with this bar I did not hear with my previous sound system when watching the same moviesYou wont be dissapointed. You yube videos is like being at the concert.Try these units, and watch movies in Netflix. Sound is Great!Your living Room will never be the same!
