Works fine, noticeably faster than the old starter, arrived 2 days quicker than quoted. Best price by far than any other source including where I get a fairly good discount. Can't see any negatives worth mentioning, so long as you don't need it right now- great deal!

I had ordered the wrong product, after reading the DB Electrical website for the product description (less than desirable information), I ordered the SFD0012 starter, after I had received it, I found out it was the wrong fit for my application, I am returning it to Amazon.ca and have ordered the correct fitting SFD0001 starter.

Picked this up for my 1995 Manual 4.9l l6 Ford F-150. At 161,000 miles the original Motorcraft starter called it quits in a Qdoba parking lot. I got the truck home by pounding on the starter till it struggled but finally turned over. Once home I looked around for a budget friendly but quality part. Autozone wanted $159 (excl core), NAPA wanted $150 (incl core). This part however was ~$46 ($56 total with 1 day shipping) and the other reviews though being few, were overall positive. I received the part on the promised date, in a clean package, and it was well packed. Packed on top was a performance curve test log including but not limited to info on Current, Power, Torque, and Voltage under multiple conditions. The starter also including a removable ~6" 1 piece electrical connection in case you would prefer to replace/splice the cable rather than reusing the old connection. Neither item was extremely important but showed to me that rather than cutting corners like many companies DB Electrical seems to try for customer satisfaction.I installed the part on the following morning and it took 30 minutes tops (possibly less). Installation was extremely easy but I would seriously recommend a 3" and 12" extension as well as an angle extension socket adapter as it will be a huge pain otherwise. This isn't due to the part but rather the location on many vehicles. Once installed I turned the truck over and it started with 0 struggle, the old starter was always slow to turn for the 5 years I owned it but this one seems to want to jump to life.Overall zero issues, fast shipping, excellent performance.

The starter on my truck went out, so I pulled the old original with 230k miles out to replace or get rebuilt. The electric shop wanted $50-$80 to rebuild it, the parts store wanted $120 for a rebuild and $180 for a new one. I have used DB Electrical in the past and decided to buy another. The starter came in and took all of 10 minutes to install. The build quality was excellent and the starter was a perfect fit. After getting everything buttoned back up, the truck started quicker and stronger than ever before.SPECIAL NOTE: The truck specifically is a 1995 Ford F-150 with a 300 six cylinder and a manual transmission. The description doesn't list the six cylinder, but this is the one you need.
