Product description is correct. All the people saying this isn’t a standard down rod should do their homework. There are two types and this is the non-threaded type. Color is a good match to my ceiling fan. Arrived on time with no damage. Big box stores in my area didn’t stock this type of down rod. The threaded type they carried was more expensive.

This is not a standard 3/4” down rod. The description is incorrect and is not threaded on one end as stated.

There are some major inconsistencies between Amazon's description and the actual item you receive, at least for the 36" satin nickel version of this Design House downrod.First, as another reviewer touched on, the overall thickness of the bar is different than your typical "3/4-inch" downrod. This downrod actually measures 3/4" OUTER diameter (OD), not the 3/4" inner diameter (ID) most modern ceiling fans require (i.e. those from Hunter, Casablanca, Hampton Bay, etc).Second, the description states in two places that this rod is threaded at one end. Unfortunately, it's not. Both ends of the rod are drilled for pins and neither is threaded, which limits its compatibility even further.If you have an odd fan that happens to require a slimmer rod and pins at both ends instead of threads, then this is probably the rod for you! However, most consumers won't be able to use this particular downrod with more traditional ceiling fans.
