Used this tap and die set for threading a couple of barrel adapters and a muzzle device, and it performed within expectations. The threads came out clean, no chattering or skipping, and the cut was sharp throughout. The HSS holds up decently if you’re mindful with cutting oil and take your time. Nothing fancy about it, but it’s functional and gets the job done for hobby-level or light workshop use.The die was consistent, didn’t show any signs of uneven pressure, and didn’t bind during threading. Tolerances seem appropriate for 1/2"-28 applications like 22LR, 5.56, and 9mm. It’s not a premium set, and you can feel that in the finish and weight, but if you're not pushing it past casual use, it holds up just fine. A decent tool to have on hand if you're doing occasional barrel or adapter work. I would recommend.
