I use a lot of Grip-Rite Gold wood screws and evaluated the Dewalt driver when used with those screws. Read on for my observations:-- TIP FIT REASONABLY WELL IN SCREW HEAD. The head of the driver fit reasonably well into the screw head. I would have liked to see it seat a bit deeper but with the fit as you see in the picture, the Dewalt head still gripped the screw securely.-- ROBUST HEAD. Using max torque I allowed the Dewalt driver to slip in the screw head. This usually caused chipping to the vanes on a driver. Ive had brand new heads have the vanes break off with this sort of slipping. The Dewalt head did fine with this test. There was some distress on the vanes (see attached post test picture of the tip) but the tip held up well and continued to grip well.
