So when assembled correctly, by this I mean take your time, it requires you to loosen every piece to fully extend it. By every piece, each section of the tube has to be loosened. SO I now start at the top, turn the little metal ring, pull on the two sections below the ring, turn each section to fully tighten, maybe press each tightened section against another surface, then go to the next metal ring and repeat tightening each section, until fully extended. If you don't want to go all the way up, start at the bottom, and work up. Just make sure to take your time to tighten each section. Use two hands, and don't press down with one hand as you need to be careful to not pinch your hand from an unsighted tube pushing down.It all sounds a little complicated, but after a few tries and realizing that it's a different tool than a traditional selfie stick / monopod and can go really high, your ready to mount a camera. Always push the stick against something first, to make sure each section is tight, with your hands clear, when confirmed, mount your camera.I have an Insta360 X4. I have a bike. The stick folds down small to fit in bike panniers. With a bike I can get to some remote places fast, take my time to "assemble" the stick, mount the camera, and wow.Overall assembled correctly straight vertical is solid, full horizontal is reasonably stable. Would I use it straight horizontal over people, no, vertical yes. Not fully extended, it's stable in both axis. Just go bottom up, to shorter length. So it takes some time to extend. I will carry it, as it allows for unique opportunities that traditional faster monopods can't match. It's worth the little extra time to have a better tool. 10ft, and me holding it higher can get to 15ft. Sometimes it's okay to slow down to get a more dramatic shot.I ordered two of the same but different brand model for around $25 so I can use them in different places I live. It's 4 stars as I don't think these are for everyone, you have to be patient, check it, check it again, and then use it. As mentioned when used correctly, it's not bad, and all sticks this long, I would not fully extend to do fast moving shots with. But if you want to go into the trees and such it's a good tool.
