I got an XL which is my normal size however the shorts were a little small. Beyond that, they look really good, and the material feels premium.

This review is for DKNY Men's Stretch Quick Dry Volley UPF 40+ Protection Swim Trunk (Medium, Black). I am 5’7” (1.7m) with a 32” waist (80cm) and I went with a Medium size in Black. The trunk fits me pretty nicely lengthwise but the leg openings could be a bit wider. I like almost everything about it except the placement of the phone holder and how to access it. It just feels a bit awkward and should be shifted more towards the side of the leg and not in front of the leg. It is also a bit hard to access due to the small leg opening. I thought the right side pocket with the zipper would allow me to reach through one of the trunk pockets into the compression phone pocket to access my phone but it was actually two separate pockets for the trunk - one with a zipper and one without. In order to slip the phone into the compression pocket or retrieve it, I had to lift the trunk up really high which isn’t great for me because the leg opening is narrow (my thighs are about 23”) and I can barely access the compression pocket. I think it should have been designed with easier access from the trunk pocket. Anyway, it’s a nice trunk and it does dry pretty quickly but I find it to be a bit clingy when wet, perhaps due to the compression material versus mesh liners. However, I prefer compression liners because they’re more comfortable. I like the versatility of using this swim trunk as a workout shorts because it is very soft and comfortable but I prefer my other compression liner trunk when it comes to the placement of the phone pocket and ease of access. Note: There is no zipper fly in front of the shorts (as expected). It just looks like there would be one in the pictures. Overall, the fit is nice for a swim trunk and it is true to size. The leg openings could be wider for easier phone access or redesigned to let us reach through the trunk pocket to retrieve the phone. I would give it a 4.2/5.0 - 11/17/2024.
