Clips break easily, sell more clips or make the original more dependable/durable

My cat has a neurological disorder and experiences phantom itching on his face. It is so bad, without a cone he would tear his face apart. We adopted him from a shelter where he had been returned 3x because of his problem. His vet said he would need to wear a cone forever or be declawed .We chose the cone and he has been wearing one for years. This model and size is our go to. He has adapted well and it is no hindrance. He can see through it, and it is not too large or awkward for our 11 pound tabby. My only complaint is that the protective edging doesn't last as long a the rest of the cone. I get about 6 months before we need to change it because the welting is torn up or falling off. I need to say this is because of constant use. Most people buying this will use it after a pets surgery or injury for the duration of rehab. It will hold up just fine for shorter duration wear without question. Highly recommended

Leather like covered edges so they don't crack when the dog inevitably runs into things. Clear so dog can see=less likely to try to tear it off. HOWEVER it isn't long enough!! I got a medium for my 12lb terrier mix and she could still reach her incision because the cone only reached halfway down her snout. How big around was fine but needs to be longer or pick a bigger size!

We bought this cone for our Corgi and it works great. The biggest problem is the sizing. We needed to buy a Large to get the proper fit for our Corgi who weighs in at all of 30lbs. Definitely measure your dog's collar/neck before purchasing to make sure this cone will fit.

Okay, yes the collar was flattened out and more oval on the dog than round, though he didn't seem to mind it a bit, he was already used to wearing the homemade collar we had for him--though it wasn't doing the job. This collar is perfect, the length of the cone is just right, our Heeler couldn't reach any of his legs to scratch. It was only one leg in particular we wanted to protect him from but I think it's important to note that he couldn't reach his hind or fore legs. As long as the water bowls were full, he could drink just fine. He could eat with this on but it wasn't easy for him.Whenever we'd give the dog a break from the collar I'd fold it opposite of the way it was flattened and lay some heavy items on it (very heavy, this thing is sturdy), after about three days it was a normal round shape. The collar doesn't seem to irritate the dog at all.It takes strong, nimble fingers to work the clasps. If you don't have tough fingers, you might have to use a small object (a key, butter knife, or even a thimble maybe) to push the little clips inward to undo the clasps. It's tad tricky at first but we got it worked out. I found it easiest to pinch the clasps (or whatever you call them) to slip them out of the holes when taking the collar off. Snapping them in place was very easy. Our dog has been in this new collar for well over a week now and he's doing great with it. He's never once managed to slip out of it, though I noticed that if he's left too long without supervision that a couple of the clasps popped themselves partway out. But only partway. I'd recommend the collar to anyone. It's easy to use, the price is great, and it does the job.
