This part replaces a cheap, plastic part that has a high rate of failure on Dodge Ram trucks. When the OEM part broke, I envisioned a long difficult sore back working under the dash. Surprisingly, it was a snap-off, snap-on job. Only tool needed was something to hold one of the "legs" up while sliding the unit off. Hardest part was fiddling with the wire rod which connects the parking brake release to the parking brake pedal. Not terribly hard, just a bit "fiddly". Works fine, sure a lot better than the traditional interim remedies like vice grips hanging under your dash, or groping for the end of the release rod. Thumbs up.

Perfect match to my truck (2002 Dodge Ram 2500).Be aware this won’t work in a 2002 Ram 1500 which actual is a Generation 3 Dodge Ram. I think it fits all Gen 2 Rams (1994-2002).Installation kicked my butt for a couple of hours.First you must reverse the mount; No problem; we already knew that. That took less than a minute.I fought getting the rod into the rod holder with the rod keeper in the hole. Finally decided to put the holder on the rod and then insert the rod and keeper into the release hole. That took about a minute. If I had done it that way to start, this would have been about a ten minute job.Operation is perfect.

Price is fair, fitment is perfect, and it doesn't feel brittle at all. The color was off from my dash, but some spray paint resolved that no problem. Definitely recommend if your OEM one is cracked like the rest of the Dodge dash

Perfect replacement for my broken original latch. Color was gray, but a few shades darker than factory gray dash. Also, as many other users commented, latch was assembled backwards. Requires user to take apart and flip upside down. Just make sure it is warm, only takes a minute. Whole install takes just 2 small pocket screwdrivers and about 3 or 4 minutes. Works great, quality seems good. Time will tell. At this point, I would buy again.
