Bought on Amazon to save mark-ups by the mechanic shop. Had a mobile mechanic come by to install. Took him about 2 hours. All told, I saved about $200 (more if it was taken to the dealership).

Master cylinder fit as designed. Seems to be as good as OEM unit.

I didn't get around to installing it for a month. When I did I found that it was bad right out of the box. Stay away from this item. Too late for me to return so I'm out $78. I would classify this item as a piece of Chinese junk.

I needed a new piece for my car and saw it was expensive in stores but turned to Amazon before I bought it and thank goodness I did because this is the same piece but CHEAPER! Great quality and build too. Would buy again if ever needed.

Kept being delayed longer and longer. Took 2 months to arrive. This unit is rare and not available in local stores, online auto stores or even from the dealer. I waited so long I tried to cancel the order but was informed it had just shipped from the manufacturer and I could send it back if I wanted but could no longer cancel the order. Took another 2 weeks after that.Was broken upon arrival. The complete unit is just in a sealed plastic bag inside a factory box, with no bubble wrap or packing. So it bounces around in the box. The white plastic piece was broken off when I got it. But fortunately I removed the piece from the old master cylinder and swapped it.This was replaced because of a very soft pedal that was always slightly soft and then suddenly went very poor. I replaced the unit and bled the full system with hoses, bottles and in the repair manual correct order, and put in new fluid. No difference!!!.Took vehicle to the GM dealer and paid $200 to get a proper bleed with control module that cycles the ABS system to get the air out. Now I have solid pedal.So, if you are replacing this master cylinder just because it has a soft pedal. Don't! Go get a proper bleed first. You will never bleed it without the unit that talks to the ABS system. Buy the unit or pay someone. For me it was about the same price. But the wasted money was the MC.MORE REVIEW on second purchase of same unit.This unit was suspected to be defective. The front brakes began locking up after 2 weeks. Did not think to blame the new MC. Replaced calipers, hoses, pads and ABS motor. Then GM dealer said the MC was defective. So I ordered another one of these and replaced it myself. This time the brakes locking up came on quicker, like within 5 km- not just random.Took the car to the dealer and they tested and said again it needed a genuine GM master cylinder. So waited 3 weeks and sure enough when I got the car back everything worked perfect with the new GM master cylinder. Mechanic suspects a seal is installed backwards. So now I have two DEFECTIVE DORMAN master cylinders. DO NOT BUY THIS as whatever country they are made in has no idea how to assembly it correctly.
