Took a gamble given the reviews indicated it worked for some people.This kit was packaged nicely and the included tools were very helpful. Installation was easy following the ifixit instructions. If it had worked I'd have been quite happy with my purchase. Unfortunately it didn't.I had two issues with it - first is the common one where it doesn't hold a charge more than a day and a half. I followed the instructions to fully charge cycle the battery several times but to no avail.Second issue is the kindle page-forward button next to the battery didn't work well with this battery installed. Uninstalled/reinstalled with no improvement. Changed back to my original battery and it started working fine again. Must be something with the battery size being every so slightly off, just enough to cause an issue with that button.

Thought for the price it was worth the gamble of all the bad reviews vs buying a new kindle and glad I did! I installed it easily and immediately charged it up before powering on. (it powered itself on at first but I turned it back off) I have so far had no problem and it appears that the battery lasts like the original one from amazon. I have had it stored in my travel bag for many weeks without use and it still showed a full charge so I am very happy that it is working like I had hoped it would so far. If something changes I'll update my review but hopefully that won't be necessary.

Battery works fine. Resurrecting an old Kindel was a bit disappointing due do the lack of compatibility with Amazons current technology. For example, If you want new books you have to manage that through your account on a PC

My wife's Kindle 3rd Gen from 2010 was in a box in the garage for the last 10 years. She found it while sorting through some stuff and wanted to use it again but the battery was dead.I tried another battery before this one but it didn't work so I returned it and then got this one, which seems to be working well. Installation was easy, and I used the pry tool and philips screwdriver that came with it.Once i plugged it in, the charge light came on and it was fully charged within an hour.I will update with any info about battery life.

La compré para darle una segunda vida a un kindle keyboard que encontré en el tianguis, seguí un tutorial de youtube para hacer el reemplazo y funcionó a la perfección, por lo que recomiendo ver ubo antes de hacer la maniobra. Apenas volví a recargarla desde hace más de un mes que la compré y tardó entre 30 y 40 minutos en cargar completamente. Viene con las herramientas necesarias para hacer la instalación. Recomendada 10/10.

I fished out my old kindle keyboard for convenient reading at work and the battery was dead, bloated like crazy! As to be expected after sitting with no use for nearly 10 years. Hardest part of the replacement was getting the back off, but with a little time I got it loose and we’re all set! Been using it for a few months and I’ve got bo complaints
