This item does the job, but I can't detect any special performance compared with all the other basic snares that I have used.

Worth it to spend a little extra for the DW snare wire and you know they will last quite a while. Really like the tension range I can get; from a good solid crack to subtle resonance in half-time shuffle. Comes with ribbon and sets easily (snare pending, of course). Change wires, change heads, change your sound!

Great wires except the DW name usually adds 50% or more to anything they sell. Pearl S-022 sounds just as good for 1/3-1/2 the price.

Replaced the factory PDP snares from 2005. Less sympathetic buzz and they seem to be more "focused". Nice product!

I have had the same strands on my snare since I first got it 10 years ago, I finally decided to get new ones and after a lot of research I decided on these.They are definitely worth the price. This combination of these and my new snare head made my drum sound completely new.I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to upgrade the current strands on their drums.
