Spend a fraction of the price an oil change place would change you. It's not a difficult process to change your own cabin filter.

I changed the filter on my 14th month ownership. Until I made the change over, I didn't realize the OEM filter has so much debris caught by the filter. I don't use the fan much as it decrease my battery range, so that was a surprise.Going forward, I will change the filter every 12 months.One confusion about the 2 strips that came with the filter. This filter is exactly the same size as the OEM but there is room inside the filter compartment which the 2 strips would have fill in that space. I'm not sure if the whole compartment needs to be air tight with the 2 strips in place for it to work - but the OEM doesn't have that space fill in....

My car always had an odor when I started the vehicle which generally dissipated in a few minutes. I changed the cabin filter, and the entire odor disappeared. The installation was more difficult than it should be. The rubber edge of the door seal had to be pulled pack partially. An interior plastic cover which is low and to the right of the passenger's feet can be pried off with a screwdriver. There are several screws to remove the glove box to access the filter area. A plastic filter cover is easily removed to expose the filter. Then put the glove box back in place, pop-on the side cover and press the side seal back in place. it took me about 10 minutes to complete.
