Fits perfectly to repair a GE icemaker. Watch a YouTube video and you'll have it installed in under 15 minutes. I've replaced many of these for family members and friends. The one common denominator of these augers breaking was people never emptied their ice cube bin. The bin get ice buildup caused by the defrost cycle of the freezer. The ice builds up on the sides and eventually gets so thick it interferes with the auger movement and breaks it off because it's plastic. The best prevention for this is every 3 months: turn off the ice maker, take out the ice cube bin, dump the bin's contents, clean the bin, put it back in the freezer and let it set for an hr to get cold again then turn the ice maker back on.

I purchased this auger to replace a broken one in my GE Adora fridge model dshs6vgbbcss. I believe the actual auger replacement part number ends in 1939, but the part number that arrived ends with 1705. Apparently they are interchangeable. The replacement auger is just slightly longer than the original. Everything else lined up though (including the flat sections other buyers have had issues with). I decided to go ahead and install the replacement despite the slightly longer length as there was a fair amount of play by the original auger in the housing. It took about 40 minutes to replace following the YouTube video “Repair Clinic -GE Refrigerator Ice Bucket Auger Replacement #WR17X11705”The replacement auger is a tighter fit than the original, and maybe it would make sense to shave off a little length with a file (as others have mentioned), but it works in my fridge. Do be careful to keep the rotating blades and washers in order as you remove them from the original auger. I took several pictures prior to removing which were a big help confirming everything at re-install. I would buy this product again. I did purchase a similar part at a similar price from another Amazon seller as a back-up and it has the same dimensions as this one. Good luck.

Exact replacement for the old broken auger. That being said, I really wonder why the H311 they make them out of plastic. I have had to replace 2 now for that very reason. Seems like a bad design but at least they are cheap and easy to replace. If you haven't done it before, take a few pictures to be sure you get the crusher blades aligned right during installation. I screwed that part up pretty good the first time.
