overheating AND packet loss!I paired this extender with a TP-Link BE900 router expecting a seamless Wi-Fi 7 mesh experience. While wireless performance is solid, the Ethernet backhaul causes overheating, leading to packet loss and instability.

This tri-band extender is excellent!! We’ve always had issues with wi-fi in our house because of the way the house is laid out. We’ve tried a variety of extenders and this one BY FAR is the best! One room with fairly good connection was around 120 mbps, after connecting to the extenders, it boosted the signal to 340 mbps!! It’s crazy! It has a tri-band and all of them work well, but I think that the 6G could be the fastest. The set-up was super easy with the WPS button. It only took a few seconds. The size is large, but it’s nice you can put it in the top outlet and it doesn’t block the bottom plug. I am removing one star simply because of price the dual-band is around $100 but the tri-band is over double. As I’ve mentioned, it does work VERY well, so not complaints there. If the price looks good I’d totally recommend it.

We put in a very nice (and expensive) Mesh system in our home last year, and we have added nodes as needed to make sure we had good coverage throughout the home AND the outdoor living spaces. So far this has worked well, but I don't love having a node outside on the patio because while it's all screened in and covered, things still get wet on there sometimes and I'm always concerned (probably irrationally LOL) that it will get damaged. Also, the backside of the house is where our home office is and also the family room where we do a lot of heavier bandwidth stuff like console gaming etc. So it can sometimes get a little slow in the back of the house because we have such a large space to cover. In lieu of adding more nodes, I opted to get one of these so we could make sure that spaces where the internet is not as blazing fast can get a little boost. So far, it's been a GREAT decision. Here's why:1. It is a small unit, so it does not take up very much space...far less than a node. I love this as you don't even know the thing is there at all. Excellent!2. It was incredibly easy to install and worked seamlessly with our existing network, which is also TP-LINK.3. It has a VERY large range of coverage - 2800 feet according to the specs - and I would say this solidly checks out as I still have FULL bars at the very edge of my backyard where it meets a large lake. This was a spot that we could previously only get about 2 bars on a good day, so that's a big improvement.4. I have seen a noticeable difference in speed after installing this as well, so it tells me it was a good choice to further break up the load of devices that was connecting to the nodes we have in the mesh system. We have the computers in the home office using almost exclusively the node that's in there and that has boosted speed in there as well.5. There is no issues with latency or buffering from this device which is excellent. In the past I have had some extenders which struggled here, especially with things that were a bit separated from the node through a few walls. So far, not a single slowdown, which is impressive.6. I have to give a shoutout to the instructions here because...a lot of people find installing one of these daunting because it's not something they have done before. The instructions are written in a way that makes such assumptions which is excellent. I'm pretty sure even the most tech adverse person can follow these and have a good end result.7. The price on this extender is a bit higher than many others but to be honest, the quality and effective performance more than justifies that. I've had previous extenders in other homes simply stop responding after what felt like too short a time...but based on my experience with this one, I would bet that this is not going to be the case here whatsoever. As they say, you get what you pay for...so when it homes to your home network which you rely on for most everything these days, including watching TV via streaming etc...it's definitely worth it to spend a little more but receive a LOT more in return.Overall, I don't know if such a thing as a perfect network extender exists but if it does, then it's this one for sure. I have had nothing but good experiences with TP-LINK items in the past, so I had an expectation going into this...this device didn't just meet those expectations...it smashed them and set a new, higher standard. Simply put...if you need an extender, order this one. You will be so glad you did.

I've been wanting to get a router or access point that supports the 6 GHz band, and this device does it nicely. Here's what I've found so far:Pros:- Can be run as an access point- Easy to configure with the local web interface- Supports TP-Link EasyMesh- Tri-band, with support for DFS channels and 320MHz channel width on the 6 GHz band- Well-built, and looks nice- Can act as a DHCP server- 2.5 Gbps ethernet portCons:- Putting the plug directly on the back makes sense for use as a repeater, but I really wish it had a 12V input or supported PoE- It gets pretty hot, but I don't think it gets so hot that it throttles, so it's probably fine- At $250, it's expensive! That's the case for most tri-band WiFi solutions right now, but it's still lame. TP-Link itself has an Omada-line WiFi 7 access point available for $190, so I feel like this should be cheaper. The Omada line is kind of for a different use-case though (business oriented) and doesn't seem to support repeater mode, so maybe it's not a great comparisonThe actual reason I wanted this was to use it for VR streaming from my PC to my Quest 3, since the Quest 3 supports WiFi 7. What I did was enable access point mode and configure a 6 GHz network, turn on the DHCP server, and simply connect it to my PC. It hands out an IP to my PC, as well as to my Quest 3 once connected, and then I was able to use the Steam Link app with no additional configuration needed. I'm happy to report that Beat Saber worked great, I noticed a few small hiccups here and there but nothing bad enough to ruin my performance on a hard song. With 5 GHZ, even on DFS channels at 160 MHz, I still sometimes got bad stutters, though WiFi and streaming is such a complicated thing to troubleshoot that I can't say for sure what actually made the difference. However, what I can say is that I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this device for my particular use case, and I would be totally happy to use this as my main WiFi access point as well (if not using it for VR).

This TP-Link BE10000 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender is fast. This extender has 4 to 6 GHz WiFi connections.I found that sometimes my devices are connected more to the extender rather than the main router. It has a good coverage and maintains the main router’s speed.I was able to connect it as a mesh with my TPlink router. It was very easy to connect with the EasyMesh button. The unit is bigger than expected. It’s larger than my iPhone (not plus)This extender has a router “engine” inside it.My only issue is I can’t connect my garage opener to the extender with good wifi signal when my door to the garage is closed. But with door open, the signal increases.
