Decent build quality, although EHX has stopped supplying hex nuts on their microswitches. The "manual" switch is just loose, supported only by the circuit board. My first Neo Clone had a hex nut, but second one did not, nor does this one. I guess that 5 cents adds up when you're selling thousands of units. As for the sound, for one, when pedal is engaged, even when depth is all the way at 0, it adds some high end. But it has surprisingly low noise, so putting it in front of distortion doesn't really add hiss. The wah sounds pretty good when swept, but is too thin sounding to use in manual mode to boost mids for a lead. A regular crybaby left in the middle position is thicker. The phase has a weird pattern to the LFO. It's not a smooth transition. You get a weird bump at one end. Not smooth like a phase 90. Sounds cool in front of distortion, a little univibe like.Tremolo sounds pretty good. It doesn't get too intense, but has a nice smooth sweep.Vibrato is my favorite (although I initially bought it for the phase). Really nice effect. Intense, but doesn't detune your sound too much. Nice for clean playing, and in front of distortion.24 volt power is a PITA, but can be powered by two outlets of a Pedal Power.I originally bought it because I need a phaser for my second board, and thought this would be more versatile. But the phase isn't what I'm looking for (but not bad), as I am looking for a smoother phase for clean rhythm guitar.I would say the strength of this pedal is how great it sounds in front of distortion pedals or a distorted amp. It's a quiet pedal, and the slight boost in the highs allows the FX to come through the distortion. You can get some pretty cool sounds.Overall, for the money, it's a great deal. You get a lot of analog bang for the buck.

First off, the sounds that come from this pedal are really good....5 stars for the sound quality and build quality. It is built like a tank.Minus 1/2 star for the very loud switch....when you press the button it makes a very loud click sound which can be annoying in quiet settings. I have read that you can replace the switch with a quieter one, but why doesn't it just come with a quieter one to begin with? Or how about offering an option of a "quiet switch" for those who play in smaller venues/quieter environments?Minus 1/2 star for requiring a separate power adapter. If you use a pedal board it can be a hassle to have many different power adapters with wires and such coming out of the board.....this one requires its own power and can't be powered by the standard multi-adapters used with pedal boards.Overall I would recommend this pedal - it sounds great, is built great, and provides a wide variety of sound processing all in one pedal....very nice.

First thing I would say is this is not a traditional wah sound. It is the 'wah' effect of a very strong phaser. I like it very much - very retro/vintage/analogue and with a Strat there are some great Hendrix-style sounds available.Unfortunately, the other effects are lacking something by comparison. Phase, trem and vibrato are quite subtle and do not have much depth. I would say they are definitely useful to have, but don't compare favourably with individual analogue pedals.Of course, it would be asking too much to expect 4 high quality FX in one pedal at this price...I would just mention the trem does not have an 'off' part of the cycle, and the vibrato de-tune is very shallow. Having said that, their subtlety is no bad thing for most occasions.Build quality is good - the 4-way pot is positive, and the 2 rotaries are smooth. It does seem a bit strange to leave a nut off the manual/auto switch (they are all like that).I was going to give 4 stars for this pedal due to the weaker effects, but ultimately they are useful to have - and I have to say the rotaries adjustment ranges are very well chosen.
