Super bright and seems to stay bright foeverrrrrrr!!!! Love them for my Rickenbacker, Fender P Bass and Fender HM V. Also my Hamer Blitz with EMGs. Lasts for years. Maybe aeons. They never break either.Follow up: It has been over 2 years since I bought these strings and they still sound as good as new. My P Bass goes from my air conditioned house to a backyard shed (in Florida, no less!) and even with the humidity and condensation from temperature changes, these strings last and last. I bought a set just to keep around in case one breaks or in case they ever actually do wear out, but it looks like the're going to remain in the case for a while yet to come.

Bin aus finanziellen Gründen von Elixir auf Earnie Ball umgestiegen und total begeistert. Klanglich für mich kein Unterschied zu den fast 15€ teureren Elixir-Saiten und super bespielbar.

I'm normally something of a devotee to d'Addario strings for my basses, but I bought these Ernie Balls primarily in order to introduce variance in tone and playability (there's relatively little point in having several basses that all sound and play somewhat similar!). And I have to say I really like these strings so far. They are definitely a little smoother to the touch than comparative d'Addario roundwounds, and this contributes to a slightly warmer tone with less of a "gratey" attack. Runs up and down the neck feel lovely but still precise, and fretted notes sustain very well when required. They are also very stable in tuning (though of course all strings fall out of tuning to some extent as a result of environmental changes such as air temperature or humidity....).The one thing I am unable to judge yet is these strings' longevity - which is the only reason why I've provisionally withheld a star on this criterion. Coated strings are sold on the strength of their longevity, and my d'Addario coated strings definitely long outlast uncoated equivalents. So I strongly anticipate that these Ernie Ball coated strings will deliver a similar excellent amount of longevity, but only time will tell! These strings are at the higher price point, but to my mind it's well worth paying the extra (compared with regular steel or nickel roundwounds from the same top-end manufacturers) for the extra string life and the conparative ease of maintenance - these strings really only need a light rub down after each playing session, provided you wash your hands before playing (a strongly-recommended but often overlooked practice). All things considered, I love these strings and highly recommend them!
