This is the docking station to get if you have one of the ultrabooks equipped with only two or three USB-C ports. The Wavlink provides the missing Ethernet port, USB-A port, HDMI port, headphone jacks, and SD card slots. The audio jack and SD card slots are especially appreciated since ultrabooks are typically used for content creation while travelling.HD video played fine on an external monitor connected to the video ports and similarly, the ethernet port transferred data at full speed on my 1 Gbps internal LAN. The docking station does get warm during high-speed transfers, but this is perfectly normal.I liked that the seller’s description lists the design limitations of the hub and provide helpful usage recommendations as well. For example, I suspect most users do not know that Bluetooth USB transceivers and external Wi-Fi USB adapters should only be plugged into USB 2.0 and not USB 3.1 ports. Here’s a pro tip. Based on my experience with similar devices by other sellers, the stated upstream charging limit does not take into account the docking station’s internal losses. Therefore, don’t try to use the charging port if the laptop battery level is low or else you will get a warning to use another charger (even though you are using the OEM charger). In conclusion, the Wavlink docking station worked well for me and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

First impressions are that it is shorter than I expected (by a couple of inches) and feels sturdy. I have an older triple monitor dock that is half again as long as this. It's nice that they are getting more compact. The case is aluminum, which is one thing I like about the this and the others I've had. Better for carting around in a backpack. It's also good for heat dissipation, and it does get warm with one 4k monitor, USB C Power Supply for PD, and laptop cooling pad fans connected. Not hot. Not yet anyway. If I add more than one monitor I would expect more heat. I have one at home driving three monitors and it gets plenty hot. This is also the first one I've had with a USB C 10Gb passthrough port, and I connected a USB C external HDD to test with. It worked just fine for a CrystalDiskMark 1GiB test. It is not an SSD, so I didn't test the full bandwidth of the passthrough port.It also has a USB 3 10Gb, SD Card Reader, and 2.5G ethernet. I'm not using those at the moment, but I will report back if they cause me any trouble in the future.I've owned quite a few USB docks, several have been WavLink, and I've been happy with them. I wanted one for an office I'm renting away from my house, and this one is more than capable.A note on longevity: This is a daily driver for me, and I expect to get a year out of these small USB C docks. Any more than that is a bonus in the sub $100 price range.A note on Mac OS: I have a Windows laptop, and it's important to note that the Amazon listing for this model, WL-UMD306, specifically says it is only for Windows. The box has system requirements, with "Mac OS 10.8 or later" listed. The description also has pictures of a MacBook connected, which makes it more confusing. It may work, but I wouldn't try it as long as the listing says otherwise.

No issues with this at all. It's a bit chunky but it does pretty much everything you might need a dock to do. It's got multiple display adapters including both DP and HDMI, and can run two monitors easily, although don't expect to get full resolution on both if they're particularly high resolution or refresh rate.Power delivery is great, and easily runs all of my laptops. There are a large number of expansion ports too. I personally will never use the SD card slot but it's a definite nice to have. The ethernet and 3mm jacks are a nice addition too. This pretty much has everything someone would need without any extra adapters. It's got enough for a mouse, keyboard and something else and any display you'd want.I did have issues with my display and couldn't get the full 4k 240hz out of this, but without it being thunderbolt I'm not too surprised and it did at least work at 60/120hz which is fine for a work laptop.Realistically, this has pretty much everything anyone could want from a dock, and it's not even that big to facilitate this. No complaints at all. I've used quite a few Wavlink products and trust the brand a lot at this point too.
