The splitter is easy to set up as a 1 in, two out splitter (so basically a network switch with 2 ports). It requires a power brick/adapter (USB, 1A or more, USB-A port output); the power cable (USB A to C) is supplied, no adapter is supplied. This spliiter is overkill for that. Go for a no-power-required, simpler splitter if you just need 1 extra port; there are some that require no extra power adapter. Use a switch if you need more port; it will need a power source. There are other configs that the splitter can support such as extending a router output; this requires two splitters (one at each end), so could not test this as only one was supplied. Includes minimal information on the various configs that you could use; a small sheet showing mostly pictures with some vague Chinglish descriptions. If you're not a network pro, you'll need to do some research on how to set up configs other than the simple 1 to 2 spliiter config.

Had to add a new Ethernet connection to a single port in my wife’s office. The 2nd connection was for my WiFi access point (MESH) since network had a DEAD zone!

I had a situation where I needed to provide network access to two remote devices, and I hoped this was an effective solution. The other option would be to purchase a small switch, but essentially this is the same thing but for 2 ports and at a much lower cost. It's plug and play... plug the line from the source into the proper slot on the splitter/switch, then plug the ethernet cables from the devices into the splitter. Finally, add power and you have completed the installation. What I thought would be a temporary fix has been working so well that I decided to leave well enough alone. Why run another 100+ feet of cable for two devices that never max out the gigabit circuit? I would order this again, and likely will so that I have one in stock for emergencies.
