Bought this years ago and still using it to this day. Haven't even gone through all the wicks that came with it yet i don't think. Good value alcohol lamp.

I am using 99% isopropyl alcohol in mine, and it runs great. I use it to singe ends of cord or webbing.

I have seen so many people complain that they dry out fast and things but mine does fine. I would suggest only filling your burner to a minimal level so if it does dry out you dont lose much. I would buy it again no problem at all.

Great alcohol lamp and should do what it needs for my brother. Just to not use the super tipped option unless less then 1/3 fuel as it does not work then spilling out the fuel and less then 1/3 and the wick can't absorb the fuel making this super tipped option unusable. Also could make a worst case power out item for when you ran out of power in your other light devices/they broke and are out of candles. However I have an LL Bean sold wind up light and radio for this kind of problem that should keep working for a long time so the need to use even a candle should not be there.

I didn't have any serious issues with the lamp itself. I planned to use it for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the wick didn't last nearly that long. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the lamp design (see other reviews) or with the wick material, but the wick turned into ash fairly quickly, and at some point in the middle of my project, I realized that I had run out of wick.No additional wicks are supplied with the lamp. If you're planning to use the lamp for more than 30 minutes or so, you will need to purchase additional wicks.Oddly, the "Frequently bought together" does not mention additional wicks, nor does the description mention that additional wicks will be required.
