I found these awkward to use, to heavy, bulky and thick making it harder to get between the hoof and the shoe to get a good grip. They can get the job done in a pinch but not something I would want to use on a regular basis.

These are a very heavy duty, high quality tool and did exactly what I needed them to. So far they've held up great and seem like they'll last a while.

I ordered the Equine Care Farrier Tools 14 Inch Horseshoe Puller because I didn't have one!This is an essential tool to have on hand if you have a horse or are camping with folks that have horses. I'd pull shoes if there was intense mud or even for a health emergency!I'd even go so far as to say, keep it in your preparedness pack as well for emergencies with extreme weather!When you ride a shod horse, (that's a horse that has shoes on) there's always a chance that your horse could throw a shoe. When this happens, you have to get off of your horse and walk it if you don't have this tool in your pack to pull the shoes off! Never ride a horse that has thrown a shoe.If your horse throws a shoe while on the trail and you are 10 miles from the barn or trailer, you might be walking in the dark in your boots all the way back if you don't have a pair of these on hand!This item is well made, came in a nice red bag and does the job it's made to do! I hope to order some more essential tools for keeping my horse's feet happy and healthy!THANK YOU AMAZON VINE!
