I bought this to use as a converter for a UV LED to cure inside of small hollow 3D prints. Most designs I’d seen for UV snakes involve a 9V battery and I wanted to be able to use a USB cable and a power bank, because I almost never have 9V batteries on hand, and to be honest, those designs looked unsafe. (Yes I could design and print housing for all of the electronics and that’s what I would do if that was my only option.) It works perfectly for this purpose, and cuts out the need to splice in an on/off switch, because it has a button on the side for that. Overall, I’m very happy with this product and have already recommended it to my friends in the printing hobby.

I used this to convert 5 volt USB in my car to 12 volts for a Dashcam. I like the display as that is an added touch. It was small enough to mount next to my Dashcam and not be in the way. Full disclosure, I cut off the 12 volt end as my dashcam had a different connector but I knew this going in. I wanted the best converter and didn't mind the extra work.

I was looking for an adapter to work with my heated makita jacket without using the makita batteries. This plug fits the jacket perfectly and has been working fine on all settings. Note : the voltage meter on the cord gets kinda warm but hasn't hurt the function of the cord. I tested the same cord on a DVD player and it gets just as warm. So I believe it's just the way it is.

I’m pretty sure this product back volted my usb rack and fried the traces on my board. As soon as I plugged this into my powered external disc drive my laptop shutdown. On reboot none of my usb ports worked. A strip down of the board found dead, burnt traces from all three usb ports and the fuse between em. I wouldn’t recommend this plug.

I was quite happy to find that this small unit not only lives up to its specs (12 volts @ 1 amp) but also displays this on a digital display. It will start to drop just a bit once it hits around 980 mA and it Will drop out if you exceed 1 amp by even 100 mA. Also note that if yo run it close to the maximum, it will run quite warm. This didn't seem to effect its performance though. I was using it to power a portable DVD player. It ran needing about 670 mA to 800 mA depending on whether the volume was low or high and if I was using a Fire stick or not. It was pulling about 1.3 to 1.7 amps from the USB source which in this case was a battery bank. In my case, the included adapter didn't fit my player, but I didn't expect it to. You can find adapters on Amazon. Just be aware that this units polarity is the more common tip +. If you have a tip - device, you will need to get an adapter to reverse the polarity or cut the cable and do it yourself which will void the warranty. This small converter does work very well for extended periods of time and I've been very happy with it. Just be aware that it will not exceed 1 amp. It also won't exceed a 2.4 amp draw from your source. So, it's also quite efficient. At this price you really can't go wrong.
