This ionizer is an affordable way to control the static charge buildup. Its fit and finish quality may not be the same as a SCS or Desco brand but its performance is equal or better. When testing this product with plate charged to 1.2Kv it reduces it to 0 volts in less than 2 seconds when verified with a 3M model 713 Air Ionizer tester . This works equally well with both positive and negative charges. The SCS brand Ionizers start in the $600 range and go up from there so you can get 8+ of these for that amount if it breaks.

El ionizador funciona muy bien, generando carga positiva y negativa, lo revise con un medidor de campo y en unos tres segundos reduce el voltaje de 1300 a 30 volts DC, muy recomendable.

Like a lot of others, I ordered this for my son to help avoid dust on his records. He found it worked really well. Our house is actually pretty dusty despite air purifiers and frequent vacuuming. We have four cats and I think that may be the cause. Regardless, it does work as advertised. There may be some that work better, but this helped his records repel dust rather than only fan it off-- so that is helpful. His records sound clean after using it, no crackling.

I purchased this product to help in BGA reballing or soldering. The solder balls jump or get stuck to tweezers because of static electricity. Ionizing the air removes the static electricity. However, after running the fan for over an hour directly on the small PCB, it did not remove the static electricity. I tried low speed but still reaching the PCB and also higher speed. The solder balls kept sticking to the tweezers and jumping around, sticking together due to the static electricity.BTW, the instruction manual was not English, it resemble the language but it did not make sense. I call this language Chinglish.I am back to the drawing board looking for a good affordable IONIZER.
