doesn’t line up on my telecaster. don't know if thats my fault or a design flaw.

It dropped right into place on my Fender Tele. I just loosened the strings, removed the existing pick guard, and installed the new one. Looks great! Item was late arriving but that's what happens when Canada Post is used for shipping. Other items I have ordered from Amazon shipped by Purolator or FedEx arrive on time or even ahead of schedule.
