I have recently adopted a pet from a family member who likes to dart after everything he sees. I have been trying to break him of that habit, and this leash has help a lot. It feels heavy and well made.

Sturdy and it works! The only issue is my husband's hands are a bit big for the handle. I do not care for ribbon instead of extending wire on some lead lines but the ribbon seems to hold up very well. My dog can pull hard as a puppy and the item is in great shape. You still need to teach your dog "walk with me" to end the lunging but I'm glad I bought this for a fair price

This retractable leash has been a reliable companion for the months I’ve owned it. It works as advertised and hasn’t broken down once. I find the design aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to hold. The locking mechanism is sturdy and reliable, unlike other leashes that have failed me in the past. The black parts are made of rubber, which makes it shockproof, considering how many times I’ve dropped it without any issues. I also appreciate the small hole provided for attaching poop bag cases.While the ABS is functional, I haven’t found as much use for it as I anticipated. However, it’s still a valuable tool when I need it, such as when a small rabbit darts by. My dogs are capable of catching them, so this leash undoubtedly saves lives.

Owner of a medium dog but have had large dogs my whole life. The first claim is the emergency stop, it works very well, but if your not paying attention, a large dog will rip the leash out of your hand unless you have a secondary, shock absorbing safety strap tied around your arm. The next claim, unless I totally misunderstand was that the tension would increase as the leash pulled out. This was the reason I bought this leash as no other retractable has this feature (including this one). If this leash blew off the emergency stop in favor of tension increase as the leash goes out then you'd have a winner. Length is fine and seems durable enough but the one thing all retractables fall short on is the handle size is way to small for gloved all weather cold walking.

Basically a great set of features, the brake set is easy to work, the length is great, the brake slip is a cool idea, too. But apparently the sewn loop connecting the leash material to the swivel bolt snap (the doo-dad that connects the leash to your dog's harness or collar) weakens the leash strap material. We bought this on 28 October 2024, it failed on 21 December 2024. Attached to her harness (as it always is for walks), she cannot physically get to this part of the leash - so it cannot have been due to her trying to chew it. Granted, our 35 pound American Foxhound is also blessed with a strong prey drive and 100% active four-footed traction, but this looks like a manufacturing defect to me. We are out of the Amazon return window, but I'll try to contact FIDA for a replacement.
