I’m so tired of changing out those little green tanks on my Weber grill. Not to mention how expensive they’ve become….So in comes Flame King to cure my frustrations. When I received my order I was disappointed to find that the protective carrier for the tank was damaged in shipping. The top of the tank had cut a sizable gash in the top of the carrier. Everything else was in perfect condition. I immediately sent an email to Flame King, receiving a response back in 24 hours. I was asked for photos & I sent them. The next day I was sent tracking info telling me that my new cover was on the way. Now that’s excellent customer service and in a snap too! The size & quality of the tank is perfect for my needs, paint white & very clean looking. The carrier will keep your tank from rolling around in your vehicle & makes it easy transporting to a campsite or picnic. It comes with the conversion hoses as well as a gas level indicator attached to the outside of the tank. Most of the packages come with a Pro option that comes with Braided Hoses, unfortunately I didn’t see that option for the 3 pound tank that I purchased. So I ended up buying Braided Hoses, with an inline gas gauge (which I prefer & is more accurate), from another company. I would suggest that the company add the Pro option for the smaller tank, with the inline gauge. This is a great package, addresses all my needs & I don’t have to deal with all of those pesky little green disposable tanks. Not to mention it’s a lot better for the environment! In my opinion, bringing this 3-lb tank is easier and ultimately more cost effective than buying and hauling multiple disposable 1-lb propane cylinders with me when I go camping. It’s also going to be necessary soon in some states like California because they are phasing out the 1lb disposables for environmental reasons.There are some things to note, however. The 3-lb tank is convenient to use if you are just powering one thing like a stove, heater etc. You could also get a splitter and run two items (close together like two stoves). If you’ve got 5 or 6 items to run, you probably need a different solution, or a few of these.I know the price point is around what you’d pay for a 20 lb tank but TBH, I don’t want to haul that size with me on a regular basis. It’s overkill unless I am bringing a propane fire pit.This is a well thought through product and bundle. The included storage bag is sturdy, vented, and makes transporting the whole setup easy. The protection it provides also makes me feel a little safer. The hose (4 feet long) works well for my needs. There is also a gauge on the tank that indicates when it is running low so you can avoid mid-dinner-prep or mid-shower surprises. The 1 lb disposable tanks don’t have that. The tank is supposed to last 10 years, which is a decent amount of time.Overall this one feels like a “buy once, cry once” situation where you invest some money upfront on a quality product and then don’t have to worry about it for a long time.

This is much better and cost effective than buying and towing around the 4x1 lb propane cylinders with me when I go camping. The flame king 3 lb tank feels much more safe to use, and the included hauler storage bag makes it even more safe with the added protection it provides. The bag was thought out well, great protection, definitely not an afterthought in design. I've hooked up the tank with my buddy heater, love that I can keep that thing going without having to shut off and replace. This has lasted me a 4 day camping trip in cold weather where I used it to supply heat and my cooking. Recommend. Worth it.

There is a lot to like about this little tank. The carrying case is decent and the tank and hose fits into it well for storage and transport. The tank also has a propane gauge built in to monitor remaining gas. The compact size is handy for running things that traditionally use 1 lb. disposable bottles. This tank equates to roughly three of the disposable 1 lb. bottles. My issue with this kit is the price point. You can get a standard 20 lb. tank (or two) for far less than this kit. I guess there are just so many more of the larger tanks made that the price point is better. This is my second tank around this size and they are just so expensive for the size. It almost makes the cost negate the convenience.
