It's a great fit for an 8-year-old beginner. The turning is smoother than her sister's older scooter. I had sticker shock when I ordered it, but I'm pleased with the construction and its sturdiness.

My 5 year old son has been doing great on this scooter. It has 3 wheels, so he feels very steady on this scooter and it has definitely helped with his confidence in riding one. He finally put both feet on it, which he would never do with our 2 wheel scooter. It was easy to put together and feels very sturdy and durable.

This is good for little kids maybe around 5 - 8 years old. I don't think a child older or bigger than that would enjoy this as much. It doesn't seem like it would be able to handle a bigger child riding around on this. Overall this was easy to put together. Because it has 3 wheels, I feel like it's a crutch or training wheel for smaller kids and it can help them gain confidence.
