I made a batch of waffle batter to test this press. Setting it at 3 gives you soft, pancake like waffles. 4 gives them a bit of a tan, and they are stiffer for a minute or two, but then soften up again. 5 (the max setting) gives you crispy waffles after about 4 minutes. The press comes with NO instructions, so you’ll have to play around to find the settings that work best for you.It’s lightweight, and the plates are very light/thin aluminum that’s been coated with a nonstick surface. So use caution pulling them out or putting them in the dishwasher so that they don’t get scratched or bent. The whole thing is so lightweight that it does make it easy to travel with (camping trips, etc), but the lightweight nature means it’s not as resilient as some other, heavier weight models. I don’t want to say cheap, because it works well. I guess maybe “fragile” is a better word for it. The handle lock is plastic and probably won’t last more than a few months at most.

I did not use the product within 30 days and when I did go to use it, the waffle maker did not work !! Poor quality
