I’ve been using Fram filters for a long time with great performance. They have always been a quality brand. Rubber grip is a great design add and helps make it easy to install and remove. Gasket works great and lasts the life of the filter to prevent leaks.

I'm not sure whether politics, religion or "best oil filter" will spark the most heated debate among gear heads. Personally, I tend to be a Wix filter fan, but having read some recent unbiased/objective (in my mind anyway) technical reviews on the Fram, I figured I'd give it a try.The item appears to be well built and I expect it will do a fine job on a "reasonable oil change interval" with a "high quality motor oil" (and there are a couple more gear head hot potato topics I'm not touching). I think this particular model Fram filter provides a nice blend of quality, performance and peace of mind at an affordable price point.I know there is a lot of Fram bashing on the internet and, while I'll agree that they have some "different design approaches" that can be interpreted by some as "cheap manufacturing", I've seen problems across all lines at one time or another. I also think that some of Fram's different design approaches (e.g. fiber end caps) can be seen as innovative and reliability enhancing - although, in all honesty, I prefer I the metal end caps of the Wix myself.The bottom line is that I'll sleep fine with this filter on my truck.
