Overall this is an excellent blade for cross cuts and rip cuts on hardwood. Cuts fairly cleanly and easily, although it is not a finish cut. Also, I won't be using it for detail or trim work, it tends to throw out small off cuts even when working with a sled and blade guard in place. I'll switch back to the finish blade for that.

awesome blade, rips and crosscuts through 6" pine logs. just finished a job where we cut about 60 lineal feet of logs for a restoration project, even tho the logs were still wet the blade cut as fast as the saw would allow, we used a Makita beam saw. No warpage or wobbling in the blade. I can't wait to try it out on dry wood. I highly recommend this saw, if other people have a problem with it I think maybe they are feeding too fast or their setup is out of alignment.

I got one of the Skil 12" miter saws. It works very well and the blade that comes with it is not bad except it is a 40 tooth all purpose blade so you don't get very clean cuts. I tried several other blades as an upgrade and all of them had problems. It seems that this saw does not do well with a thin kerf blade. This is a full kerf blade. It is a really good compromise between lots of teeth (clean cuts but hard on the saw and slow) and fewer teeth (quick cuts but not as clean). No vibration or wobbling, and seems like it will last a very long time. Cuts are very smooth and clean, and the saw cuts easily through a 2x6 and more.

Freud rates this blade as "good" for cross cutting, and I would have to agree. It is not "great" but does leave a nice finish. Truthfully, not as good as a Forrest 40t WWII blade. The Forrest has 20 fewer teeth, but the side grind of the teeth and the higher angle of the ATB grind leaves a better finish. This blade did a good job on veneer plywood, mahogany in this case. However, there was some bottom side splintering but the top was flawless. On Baltic birch ply it did a great job on top and bottom. End grain cuts are clean and smooth, but do not look polished like a new Forrest delivers. This blade is brand new. I do like the chrome plated blade. It looks like it will be easy to clean and minimize corrosion. I am not a fan of the PTFE coated blades, or coated blades in general, but this new coating is good. The blade doesn't wobble, though I didn't dial indicate it to measure run out - it leaves a smooth finish so it is acceptable to me, whatever it is. If the ATB grind on the teeth was 20* instead of 15* I would reckon the finish would be even better, especially in plywood. I wouldn't rip with this blade unless it was thin plywood or half inch thick solid wood. Hopefully the harder grade carbide will mean fewer sharpenings even though I am just a hobbyist. Overall a good blade and good purchase. Made in Italy.
