This is a fantastic tool to have on your workbench. It is well made. The cables on both ends of the power brick are nice and flexible. The power brick has an easy-to-read display and the voltage dial is easy to turn. There is plenty of length on both cords to plug into a nearby outlet and get the power to the right spot on your project. I've easily spent the same on different battery holders and plug adapters. So this is a good value.Two big wins for me on this power adapter.1. CONVENIENCE. The number and variety of adapters that this comes with are extremely handy to help with whatever project you are working on. You won't be limited by the power plug that came with what you are working on, this kit has the adapter to connect!2. CONVENIENCE. The time I'm saving just being able to dial the adapter to the voltage that I need, instead of digging through my bucket of parts for the 2 or 3 or 4 AA battery holder, or the 9v plug, or the old power supply that I cut the end off of.This power supply connects to whatever you need, at whatever voltage you need with a few simple adjustments.The voltage dial works well. It's pretty sensitive, moving just a bit of the dial changes the voltage. I had the two-prong adapter connected to my voltage meter and was getting "similar" voltage readings on both devices. If there is something I'm super concerned with, I'll double-check with the voltage meter. But 99% of the time, I'd say that this is going to be close enough.I also connected this to a 12v LED strip. When the voltage was too low, the strip did not turn on. When I turned the dial up, as soon as it reached 12v the LED strip fired right up.I am very happy with this power supply.

I ordered this power supply to make life easier by having a power supply available that will work with most devices. This power supply comes with a good number of adaptors that will enable you to have the one you need in most cases. The power supply provides a good amount of variance to adjust to the amount of power you need. Before getting this, you should make sure that it can supply the amount of power you need.I have had other power supplies that are variable, but they don't always provide an accurate power reading. I tested this power supply with my multimeter and found that it was very accurate, it was not perfect, but you have to consider power from an outlet is not at a perfect level as well. I found this power supply to be accurate enough to trust. When using a power supply, I recommend that you set the power before plugging your device into it so that you don’t risk overpowering and damaging your device.The power supply is constructed with sturdy plastic, and the cord also seems to be good quality. I did not have any electrical interference while testing this device with audio devices. If you are looking to replace a missing power supply that is hard to find or you are like me and want to have one around for multiple purposes, you may want to order this.

This power supply works for many different things. Most power supplies in this price range are a fixed voltage with a single size tip.My favorite feature of this power supply is all the different tips it comes with. I tinker with lots of different electronic devices and I can keep this one power supply handy to power almost all of them. I would not use this for smart devices like a computer, phone, or tablet. Those devices negotiate the charging voltage and current. This power supply is great for security cameras and micro controllers like a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino.I hooked up a digital multimeter and compared the voltage to the built in display. They were pretty close. My DMM read 8.63 when the built in display was reading 8.60. The ripple voltage seemed to be fairly low. There must be a decent filter capacitor on the output because it takes a few seconds for the output voltage to drop when you turn the voltage down with no load attached. It probably drops faster when there is a load on the output, but I prefer to get the voltage set properly before I attach it to the load.The output is pretty high for this price range. Many adapters in this price range are a fixed 12v 3a adaptor with a single size tip. This one has a variable voltage, puts out up to 5 amps, and has numerous different tips.It's worth the price just to get all the adapters.

I know many people here just need a power supply with a tip that fits whatever device they need it for, and then they're not going to touch it again. I wanted this to be able to power broken devices I buy, while I repair them, then get a standard power supply for the device. For this purpose, it's good enough, but it won't replace any bench supply that an electronics repair person or hobbyist may use on a normal basis.This power supply lacks complete accuracy and also delivers less power over time. When I was measuring the voltage output, the power supply was consistently a tenth of a volt off from what the LED face said it was. For example, when the LED face reads 11.4 V it was actually 11.3 V. As time went on, the voltage began to drop as well, so after two hours the voltage measured at 11.1 V. This type of change may not matter to most, but for me, I need exact voltage for many of my projects.It sounds like I'm being mostly negative, and in fairness I am, but this type of power supply will work great if my project already has a voltage regulator downstream of my work. The voltage regulator won't care about a few tenths of a volt.So for the positives: you get a lot of barrel jacks, a polarity inverter (which I need often), a portable power supply for quick jobs, and a price point that is fine for what it is and what you getThe negatives: the voltage is incorrect by a small amount, the last 1/4 of the dial turn is useless because it reaches 12.4 V around the 3/4 turn mark, and the voltage can drop over time.Like I said before, this won't replace any bench supply you may have, but it is a portable, mostly accurate power supply that could be useful in a variety of circumstances
