The Ge version of this pedal has a different tone flavor than the standard. To my ears, it sounds a bit clearer, a bit tighter, and better overall presence. Very glad I got one before they were discontinued. Very great as an always on crunch or even works well pushing other drive or fuzz pedals. Definitely never letting this one go.

Have an original v1.4 that i will never part with, this one is a different revised variant, it leans a little more into the fuzzy territory if you want it to, a little more compressed so its harder to get into trouble with it(harder to get a bad sound) u can put the knobs just about anywhere and it still sounds musical.......i do like the change to the taper in the volume pot. Love the option of choosing true bypass or buffered.... i actually found a use for the buffered position. It plays nice (nicer than v1.4) with my alternative digital (yuk!) roland me50 practice/coverband setup. The color is cool, internally it has changed a bit, newer construction techniques,(if youre the mad scientist type with an electronics background and like to swap circuit components with a soldering iron, get an older one) pots, jacks and switches still feel like top notch fulltone quality ....... bottom line ...if you play an amp that never sounds great with a midrange happy tubescreamer type pedal. Give it a shot. Its full of harmonic overtones and sustain without the midrange bump. Welldone fulltone! I love it.

I have owned no less than 5 OCD's before buying this one. I still have a V1.3 and a newer V2. Great pedals.This one is a little different. Also, it's part of the newer versions of the GE that Fulltone tweaked a bit. The result is it's a little more open and less compressed sounding than the original GE. It sounds awesome. I have played it with various guitars and amp combinations and it's hard to find a bad setting. Quality build and components. Although still in production, they are a 'limited' model, so expect them to stop production in the near future.

I used the original OCD for a while but I never felt that it was awesome. I replaced it with the TC Electronics Dark Matter, which I still use, but was looking for an additional pedal recently.I heard the demos of the new OCD 2.0. and was impressed. but when I heard this OCD GE, I was even more impressed.This is truly an outstanding pedal.UPDATE: After running this pedal with various guitars, amps, and setups, I am still very impressed with this pedal. I got an 18v adapter and greatly prefer it. I personally find that with a 9v power AC it retains a classic dirty overdrive, but with the 18v it seems to become more smooth and singing which is my personal preference. It's worth experimenting with.

I loved the OCD V2 when it came out, but when this custom shop arrived, it sounds even better than the regular OCD because of the Germanium diodes and Mosfets in the circuits. It's more wide open and has better clarity, and every note is clear and discernible. The volume pot comes with audio taper technology as this OCD sounds a lot louder than the regular OCD. It has enhanced bypass-true bypass selection switch for the discerning guitarist, is built like a tank, it sounds great even when used on its own, and can give me a range of usable tones by dialing the pots and experimenting. I love custom shop OCD+ GE! This Overdrive-Distortion pedal has a permanent place on my pedal board.
