I was looking for a flat bottom that would work with my electric stove top. This stays put and does the job.

Tadka pan is easy to use and worth the money.

The pan did not heat up on our induction hob. Apparently, the base is too small in diameter when in contact with the hob's surface for the hob to be activated. In addition, the handle is so heavy relative to the pan part that the pan will not sit level on a hob but will instead lean at an angle unless you manually hold it level. Some other tadka pans I've seen have an "leg" on the handle to avoid this problem.
