After about 6 rides of more than 20+ miles each, I feel comfortable writing a review about the Garmin Varia RTL515. First, let me say that this Radar with Taillight works exactly as advertised and I can easily recommend it to any bike rider. That said, here are what I hope may be some helpful notes:- I use the radar with my iPhone 14 Pro and the associated Varia app- It took me less than 10 minutes to unpackage, mount, install the app and pair to my phone (note that for my rides my iPhone is attached to a mount on the handlebars)- Some have reported issues with the mounting hardware that comes with the device. I encountered no issues at all (installing or while riding)- Be sure to use the audible sounds and not just the visual (in other words, keep the volume on and up)- The radar detected approaching vehicles 100% of the time and about 85% sooner than my hearing did- I found the biggest benefit comes when I have to merge from the shoulder of the road out into traffic to make left hand turns or move out from a right only lane. As I have aged (now 65 years old) I don’t have the flexibility to turn around and look like I once had and this device helps in indicating if there is oncoming traffic and if there is, I can adjust my speed to slow down (or speed up) until it is clear. But make no mistake, DO NOT RELY SOLELY ON THE RADAR. Always use your eyes and ears!- I can say, from my limited experience, that the battery life seems solid and unless you’re doing 6+ hour rides (just my estimate), you will be fine and won’t run out of juice- Speaking of battery life, using the Varia app while using the Strava app to log my ride, I used up approximately 15% of my iPhone’s battery on a 2 hour rideMy only gripe is that there is no integration with my Apple Watch. It would be very beneficial to have haptic alerts. I did find a third party app that supposedly does this but have not purchased it ($5.99).This device may not be for everyone but if you are looking for some added, reliable safety when you ride, it is worth it and, in my opinion, at a reasonable price.

These are good aside from not being sticky enough. I use a glue stick to stick them to notebooks, or tape. Treat it like a writing pad, and it’s less frustrating.

These are so cute to use for daily to-do lists at the office! However, the sticky part will not stick at all - not even once. I have to use tape every time I need to stick it anywhere. These would work better as a notepad rather than sticky notes. The paper is thin and begins to curl up as soon as it's taken off of the pad, so it's not ideal. That being said, the colors are cute and there are a lot of sheets in the 10 pack.

I chose these little sticky notes because they're different from the normal ones. I like the size I love the value for the money. The colors are fun and the paper is good quality. I have not had them come unstuck yet so the sticky seems to be pretty good too!

Realmente esta marca me gusta mucho. Es fácil de instalar, cuando salgo a rodar su luz permite que sea visible, además de que me avisa cuando una auto se acerca. Estoy muy contento con esta compra

Todos los que somos ciclistas de ruta y salimos a carretera o avenidas principales, debería ser obligatorio tener uno sensor como este. Te da mucha más seguridad en el camino.

First time using a rear radar light and can say quite impressed. its linked to my Garmin 830 and get a colour warning well in advance of me ever noticing by head checks or hearing. I am pleasantly quite impressed. only thing I worry about is that it doesn't have a tether and may make me over confident and not do as many head checks as i would otherwise.

Es muy sencillo de operar y emparejar. Lo utilizo con un Wahoo Elemnt Bolt y aunque con este ciclocomputador no funciona el ajuste automático de la intensidad de la luz, la función de radar es muy buena y útil en carretera. En la banda izquierda aparece una franja que indica cuando algo se aproxima además de generar una alerta visual con los leds superiores y una alerta sonora.El radar tiene tres modos de operación: notificaciones, mudo, apagado, lo cual es muy bueno cuando se anda en zonas de mucho tráfico. Es importante notar que el radar indica que algo se aproxima detrás de uno, sea un auto, otro ciclista, u otro objeto.Finalmente, los tres diferentes soportes para colocarlo en el poste de asiento funcionan muy bien. Yo lo tengo montado en un poste de asiento aero en D y es muy estable y fácil de ajustar.

The Varia model tested was the RVR315 without the taillight (with the light it’s model RTL515).First of all, it’s a solid Garmin product. It is supplied with 3 seat post profile inserts and two sizes of O-rings to fasten the unit to the bike seat post. A micro USB cord is supplied for connection to a power source (not supplied). The charging port is protected by a well -designed cover but care should be taken when inserting the USB plug. As with all USB sockets, the unit can be damaged if the plug is inserted incorrectly or with excessive force. Battery life seems to be 3-4 hours. Battery is also reported on the Varia App screen.The RVR315 was tested with an iPhone 7 using the Garmin Varia App and the RidewithGPS App. The unit easily paired with both apps and will alert you if pairing fails during a ride.The radar will detect multiple cars behind you at up to153 yards as claimed. The unit does not report “all clear” unit the last car detected has passed you (great when you can’t see them all). However when you turn onto a side street and a car turns with you, the detection may be mixed. When riding straight and a car turns out of a side street behind you, the Varia takes a moment to detect the vehicle and it may not be detected until it is right on top of you. Overall the performance is quite impressive, it picks up vehicles at a distance and will alert you well before you can hear a vehicle approaching.VARIA AppThe app is streamlined with options to select some sounds/vibrations on the interface. The app displays a high contrast track on the phone that is readable even in bright daylight. Be aware the app does not sleep so the screen is using more battery time. Audio signal volume is moderate but adequate.RIDEwithGPS AppAfter pairing with the app, RwGPS adds a graphic track to the left/right side of the screen (your choice). It displays well, but the track is not displayed as well as the VARIA app. Also the RwGPS screen may enter sleep mode if selected and you lose the visual display, but the audible alerts will still be heard.Bluetooth Audio with Both AppsIt is possible to pair an external Bluetooth speaker with the app/phone to increase the audible announcements, but the results may be mixed with the external Bluetooth unit. An older Bluetooth 3.0 speaker did not report all of the expected tones all of time. Some alerts remain silent even as the phone app showed an approaching vehicle. When a Bluetooth 5.0 speaker was paired, the unit reported the audible alerts consistently. One curious note is that depending on the app or the external speaker the audible alerts may be slightly different tones.City riding with the Varia may yield some spurious results but it still quite good. Out on the longer stretches it is very consistent. In both scenarios it adds a safety factor that is hard to beat for any serious cyclist.
