The metal on this filter wrench is about 75% thicker than those at Auto parts stores. More importantly, it removes filters even if they are over tightened. The version from all Auto parts stores was cheap junk, bent out of shape and the spot weld broke on my truck oil filter. Gearwrench easily removed my filter and the cheap one would not. If you have oil filters and water separating fuel filters (marine) you need this wrench.!
