The RPI 5 with the SSD only works without crashing after making the following changes to the end of /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt:nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=offThe RPI crashes if I installed the board with the SSD into the metal case. I resorted to print a plastic case to house the Pi and it has been working fine.

I bought this case and M.2 'hat' for my Raspberry Pi 5 to add M.2 capability. Works great.

I actually have 2 of these and they are perfect cases, if you only plan on adding a single hat, which in my case are M.2 NVMe hats. The case has plenty of ventilation holes and the build quality is darn good, easy to assemble.

As one of the guys mentioned it probably short circuits the board. My Pi doesn't work with case on. And works without it.
