Indeed, this is the original Hario and looks nice. I don't know if it's better than the Chinese copies. Probably not. After all nothing special about making a glass carafe. Glass is glass and is the same around the world.

I've always been a fan of Hario's glass pots as they're nicely designed and really easy to use. Only problem I have with them is that they can be extremely fragile. I don't expect this product to last if I accidentally bang them on something. One drawback I found from this design is it could be hard to reach the bottom of the pot when washing them out.
