My baby was older and losing her bladder. She weighed 60 lb. Not exactly a tiny pup. The pads were definitely as advertised and turned immediately to gel. They didn't slip around and absorbed odor well.

These are great because you only need 2 to cover the inside of a big dog’s potty instead of like 3 or 4 smaller ones. Another thing I like is the scent. I prefer at least to have that pleasant smell if I’m cleaning up something that doesn’t smell so fresh.Two of these (one partly on top of the other pad) can really hold a large amount of pee (maybe 5 pees in two days) from a big 100 lb dog and not leak. If you wait until the urine dries, the pad is even easier to handle.

When you have a large dog with diarrhea you want a sturdy big pad. You’re not always awake when nature calls to your sick dog. These pads absorb a lot. I do tape 4 together simply because I want her not to miss the paper. They have saved me a lot of grief over cleaning up a nasty mess.

I recommend this brand to all who are in need of training their new puppy. Hartz is a reliable brand and put out quality pet supplies and this lavender scented pads are easy to use. For all you new to training a puppy. I highly recommend you pick a spot to be the place for your pup to relieve themselves. It takes a while for them to figure it out and sometimes they pick the spot and keep using it so you'll be better off placing the pads down in that area and start out with many pads overlapping as it takes a good six months to a year for a puppy to understand what is going on. Just be patient and make sure you clean up the soiled pads as soon as you see it. Rewarding them for going on the pads goes further then punishment for not hitting the pads. Starting with as big of an area as possible and then slowly over many weeks removing a few of the pads down and if they are still only going on the pads then you know they are putting the dots together. As you try to get your precious puppy to go outside still leave the pads in place. It seems like an eternity for them to grasp the task. They only after a year are physically capable to control their pee and poop buttons, so be as patient as possible and remind yourselves one day all the dots will connect and they will if you teach them to ring a bell or bark at the door, they will try their hardest to not make a mess so they can see your smile and be praisef by you. As you are the most important person to them and want to make you happy. Show them your praises and know they are truly trying as hard as they can.
