These topwater have stripers blowing up the waters. Caught one and another had me tied down in some structure and broke me of after about 15 mins of wrestling with it and took my lure with him. But all N all the strikes were great and lots of action.

I have described Heddon Spooks as absolutely irresistible to sight and ambush predators. There's just something about that motion that will get even the most stubborn fish to act. It's worth the time needed to get the rhythm down right. I love buzzbaits, but I love Heddon Spooks better. I've already lost two this year and I replace them as soon as I get low in the tackle bag. Worth every penny in my book.

Funciona muy bien usando la técnica " pasear al perro. Muy dinámico por su tamaño.

Spooks have a long history of success and quality. I don't see this version being different. Perfect size for smaller bodies of water, great selection of colors. Work well on lighter lines.

Nice paint and finish and the hooks and rings look OK, can be replaced if you are fishing heavy line or a tight drag and are concerned with bend-outs. I've read at least one review saying they felt there wasn't much difference between Super Spook Boyo and Zara Puppy spooks, and initally I also wondered the same, so let's disect these a bit.For starters, they both are about 77mm in length, but the Boyo is fatter, about 16mm across the body measured just behind the front hook eye--the Puppy measures about 14mm in the same place. It's only a couple millimeters but visually it makes quite a bit of difference. I whipped out my mini scale and the Boyo weighs in at about .33oz/9.35 grams, whereas the Pup is about .25oz/7.22grams--so you can see begin to see a separation emerging. One thing I didn't notice for months! The Puppy has the traditional second/optional screw-eye mount hole in the nose. I have not tried moving the line tie, but have heard it can create more glide. The Boyo has the one-positon drop nose line tie only! (I've read you should use epoxy or super glue if you modify this).Next, the Boyo has a large ball-rattle housed just fore of the rear hook--the Pup has no rattle, it's relatively silent, the Boyo isn't! That's an important difference. If you are fishing heavily pressured waters, I'd think the silent presentation (no rattles) would be the choice. The Boyo appears to have size 4 trebles and it looks like size 6 on the Pup. The Boyo came with a split ring on the nose, the Pup did not, so I added a size 3 ring myself.I took both over to the local pond for a splash and they both cast very well on my 6 1/2' casting rod, which is medium power/fast action, rated for lures 1/4 to 3/4oz and 10-20lb line--I'm getting both these out there about 25 yards or more. The Boyo gets about 5 feet more distance if that, they both cast about the same--like a bullet.I'm still learning to walk these consistently but both walk fairly easily, with the Pup a little easier to get dancing side to side. The rattle in the Boyo is plenty loud, by the way.I hope this helps everyone--there are lots of new and improved (and sometimes expensive) topwater walking plugs available nowadays, but the spook is no slouch. It's caught lots of fish for lots of years.I'm looking forward to seeing if the old magic works for me with the Boyo and Puppy versions.
