I own a couple of benchmade bugouts and really like them (some people hate them) They offer them in a couple flavors of steel S30v, S90v 20cv, m390 but no cpm magnacut yet maybe in the future (probably at a premium price).The hogue deka magnacut is a very close copy to the bugout from its lightweight polymer handle to the axis style lock. Even the blade design is similar (bugout has a little more meat near the tip and thicker spine). Both have partial steel liners, the hogue has slightly longer liners than the bugout which may account for its lightly larger weight.I slightly like the feel of the bugout handle than the deka. The bugout has a knurled texture and slightly more comfortable feel in the hand (just my opinion). Both knives open really smoothly. You can flick them open easily with your thumb or pull back on the locking bar and flick your wrist to open them with little to no blade play. Both offer short deep carry pocket clips (the bugout has more tension)For the price the deka with magnacut is a great bargain. the S30v bugout will cost you 140-160 and their premium steels will run you $250 - $300 so if you want a bugout with premium steel but don't want to pay premium benchmade prices this hogue deka will not disappoint.WeightDeka 59g / 2.1ozBugout 54g / 1.9oz

I ordered a new Hogue Deka and got one with no box or product and warranty information, just the knife in the zip pouch. The one I received had poor blade centering and had bad opening and closing action. Really disappointing because I've heard great things about this knife but I had to return it.

Excellent knife that's absolutely smokes the bug out I have the deka in the wharncliff blade and the clip point both in magnacut with aftermarket og scales. I highly recommend this knife and you can get aftermarket scales in solid aluminum or solid titanium and give that Magnacut blade a truely worthy home. It came hair shaving sharp out of the box and couldn't be happier with this knife.
