Half of the solar lit pool lanterns didn't work. Very frustrating as they were both cheap.

These are an excellent item. They are bright, colorful. The seller works perfectly, couldn’t be happier.

Love the changing color and the fact that it adds dimension to our pool using solar!

I struggled to inflate these balls. The supplied hand pump was useless and I had to inflate them by mouth. The valves have a flap to stop air from coming out, but this foes not open sufficiently for the hand pump which means you are pumping against a blocked valve. I found a spot at the base of the valve to press down on when blowing into it which opens the valve allowing air in. It was a major effort to inflate all 4 like this which did not leave me in a good mood. After a few hours in the sun, I discovered that night that 2 would not light up. No amount of pressing the button on the underside or the remote helped. It seemed like these were going back. When I was inflating them I remembered touching a battery holder inside the ball. I decided to partly deflate the two non working balls and give the battery packs a squeeze. I could feel the batteries click into place and voila the ball lit up. I finally had 4 working lights. I was disappointed at how dim these are. The product images show a much brighter ball, which is not representative of these. The batteries last long between charges and they seem to stay on most of the night. They are interesting in the pool but are quite plain and not bright enough. So far these have lasted several months of daily use so reliability seems good. The battery issue was probably caused by rough delivery which made the batteries pop up in the battery holder.

I got some of these a while back (different brand) and liked them so much that I wanted another set. This set is a bit pricier than my previous set ($54 vs $46) so they lose a star for that. I still like them though. Some of the other "globes" are very small and it's difficult to see them at night. These are 13" in diameter so they show up. They have several setting options (one color all the time, flashing, quick color change, fade, etc.) My favorite is the fade. If all turned on at once, they tend to all be the same color at the same time. I recommend staggering the timing for turning them on or changing the setting (with the remote) so they vary. Also, if you point the remote at them and there is more than one in the vicinity, they will all do the same thing. So you have to move them away from each other if you want to control them individually.
