I have a layered ceiling and one front room is tiny, so the area for a ceiling fan is small. This fan fits perfectly into the tiny area and my wife now has a nice breeze when sitting there. The fan is nice looking and absolutely silent as far as my hearing can tell - I have to go look to see if the fan is on - we run it on medium. At high speed I can hear it but its not loud.Installation was not smooth, but not because of the fan. My ceiling electrical box was too small and did not fit the fan bracket so I had to install a adapter to get the bracket up (adapter was not included in fan kit). In order to use the adapter I had to loosen the ground wire on the bracket and turn it. Once I was past step 1 it was fairly easy to install by myself. Be sure you have two screws in your junction box - they require you use the existing screws and do not supply you with extra.You can use one of two different extender sleeves but both are fairly short. I used the shortest, the longer one came setup ready to use. If you have to move parts - just remove the top screw and tings will slide apart. Be sure to look at it so you can put it together correctly on the other sleeve. The hardest part was moving the ground wire - it was FIRMLY screwed in and hard to loosen.Wiring was a breeze and they made it especially easy. You can install just the fan or the fan and lights. You can connect the fan and lights to a single switch, or if you have a dual switch setup you can use one for the fan and the other for the lights. Make sure you connect ALL of the grounds, there are two ground wires in the fan kit that need to go to your ground wire. All necessary hardware (wire, wire nuts) were included.Installing the fan blades was more difficult than it needed to be - screws are close to the fan clasp edges so you are trying to hold a fan blade assembly, get a screw started into an area hard to reach, and use a screw driver at the same time. It is doable, just more difficult then it needed to be. With two people (on two ladders) it would be much easier.Installing the lights was very easy, but getting the bottom glass globe and the pull chains right is a balancing act. Be sure the fan chain goes through the provided hole at the top of the light fixture or it will not work correctly - it will refuse to pull as it will be kinked against the glass globe. So before raising the glass globe, get the fan pull chain through the correct hole in the light attachment and it will be moved close to the center. Then raise the glass globe, the plastic globe retainer, thread the chains through the bottom clasp and screw on the bottom. If you have done all of this correctly both chains will pull easily. If they seem to be jammed, then you have the wrong hole or forgot to use a hole entirely.The fan seems well balanced right out of the box - there is only some slight shimming at high speed and none at medium speed. Fan is very quiet.The amount of light produced is adequate for a small area. You will be using two small 600 lumen LED bulbs (provided with kit).

Beautiful fan. Very quiet and the light is bright.A little difficult to install and a little pricey but overall it was worth it.I'm probably going to buy a couple more for the bedrooms.

This fan is doing an exceptional job in my back bedroom. Granted the room is small but the previous fan has been worthless for years. I read the reviews & decided to try this one & I'm glad I did. It creates a really nice breeze & the sound is not annoying --- more of like a background white noise sound which is acceptable for a bedroom.I have a very large expensive fan in my living room -- it was on sale for $400 & it also creates a true breeze that keeps the room comfortable but I didn't expect this small inexpensive fan to work this well. Be careful with the light dome -- it easily cracked during installation but Amazon sent a new fan out immediately. Very pleased & now I'm looking at replacing the other two fans that are also almost worthless & install this one.
