The tool comes with two blade guards. Keep track of them. you ill need them when the saw is not in use.Great tool for model making, but watch your fingers !!!

Compared to the Stanly "Fat Max" flush cut saw, this one is amazing. It's equal to the actual Japanese export flush cut saw of similar form factor. The blade is thin so material loss is minimal when building with dovetails or cut on dowels. It's very sharp and doesn't need any down pressure to cut. It slides on the forward pass of the cut easily. This cuts flush without ripping up the wood you are cutting flush next to.As a comparison, the Stanley FatMax saw wants to cut going both forward and backward, and it's as thin as this one so it flexes and catches, it also doesn't flush cut as neatly as the teeth slide along the surface you are cutting, meaning you need to put down masking tape when cutting something almost flush to the surface (good practice with any saw for me anyway).Blade isn't replaceable but for the price the tool is. It comes with protective covers on the teeth you aren't using - this has rip and crosscut blades on opposing sides, the triangle tipped blades are the rip saw while the sort of fine / diamond are the crosscut teeth. Some are marked hardwood and softwood instead of rip/crosscut.
