The Dorman lock is more expensive than another brand I tried. It fit correctly and easily in my 89 Bronco II. However, the wire lead is about 6" too short to plug into my harness. This is an easy fix by splicing in the longer wire from the original lock. If you have trouble with the lock seating all the way check the solder joint on the wire lead. The Dorman is on top in the picture and correct. The cheaper brand is circled in red and would not fit due to poor manufacturing.

I bought mine for a 1986 Ford Ranger. The instructions that came with it were for GM cars and did not apply to my truck at all. Nevertheless, it was a match for my original part.It was complex to install because I could not get the old cylinder out as I could not turn the key to the "On" position. I forced it out and broke the inside end off. I removed a snap ring and a keyed washer resulting in a gear coming out also. After much research, I discovered that the actuator must align with the first/last key in order to work. When I eventually got the gear and actuator in the proper position, the cylinder slipped in and worked!I gave it four stars on value because it almost 3 times as much as other lock cylinders. I paid it because it was available for Same Day Delivery. I ordered it at 10am, received it about 7pm.

Super easy to install, even comes with instructions..... but you'll hardly need them!Edit* cable is too short, by a couple inches.
